Maureen was born in Norfolk Nebraska in 1959. Having no memory of the onset of artistic desire, but many powerful early influences. A local artist and neighbor Hortense Hagen, welcomed Her into Her art studio regularly and patiently fielded questions. Teachers, family and friends were constant source of motivation and strength. Private art lessons given by a wonderful woman and artist, Clara Reeves lit the fire toward Her love for realism. At ten years of age, at the prodding of a wise teacher, She created an insignia that remains unchanged.

As a child, being hired to model for a local group of artists, deeply confirmed that She was on the wrong side of the brush.

Maureen has attended the artist convention at Halsey National Forest and enjoyed stepping into uncharted medium such as Water Color instructed by Ken Posner. She has participated in Art Shows over the years and enjoyed Her first solo show in October of 2010 at Pepe's Vegi-Mex Bistro, Havelock Nebraska, 9 Muses Studio (November 2011) and Columbus Art Gallery (May 2012) Pepe's Vegi-Mex Bistro Dec. 2013-Jan. 2014. There will be a future show in Le Mars Iowa in 2016.

Acrylic is Her primary medium and has found her love of artistic expression through Her joy of realism, surrealism and recently impressionism.

She often paints with the canvas upside-down. And finds that attention to shapes and details are the most important and productive ingredient in her work.

With a new passion and challenge in Live Event Art, she finds a new way to deeply connect with Her local community through painting on site during weddings, live music venues, social gatherings. This has pushed Maureen into a new adventure in impressionism.

Commission projects flow at a comfortable pace. Remaining focused on Her painting Maureen plans for relocation to New Mexico.
